Behind my lens

Welcome to Cheryl's focus; thoughts, behind my lens. Sometimes serious, sometimes not.

Cheryl's update!

My new site name and business has been changed to Cheryl Skinner Photography. To view my work, information and current working links, please visit http://www.cherylskinnerphotography.com. Please visit the "featured sessions" at the bottom of the galleries tab to see gorgeous life style portraiture, until I can update this blog with properly sized photos from the session. I am very excited about those portraits!
I am not the best at updating all of my information. I am hoping Google finds me without dead links now!
As the holidays come upon us, I find myself working many hours on designing cards for clients. Greeting cards and other gift items are always available from your session. I will add a gallery of templates in the near future!
If you are a past client or thinking about commissioning a portrait session, you may want to consider hosting a portrait party in the near future! Email me if you would like some details on those!
I have just opened my new Etsy store as well, where you can find my collection ( OK, I am working on them) of boutique style jean jackets, and will be posting the first one today!
Thanks for reading! I had a terrible time in past months, up until now, accessing this blog. It seemed to always take me over to the Graphics Garden where my design work is, but I think I have finally worked out the kinks!
Have a wonderful day and Happy Holidays to you all!

Valentines

With Valentines around the corner, I got busy and shot a little bit, but never posted here. Danica is getting older. I had fun shooting a fellow photographer's daughter... FINALLY!I know she gets tired of her mom wanting to have her look towards that glass, so I usually don't even ask. She was sooo sweet.. Check it out!

Sweet 16 photos

This was so much fun at the corner strip mall with the two Kayla's! I used the 200mm lens this time. It is always a pleasure looking through that lens. With this being an older fixed lens, I don't have too, too many uses for it, but this pretty young lady was a perfect model just right for the choice, and our location. I like these painted textured buildings. Think we will do this again in the near future. Kayla is like a breath of fresh air I have badly needed! Here is a peak at some of my unfamiliar work. Who said you need to follow all the rules anyway?

Savannah

Savannah is almost one now! We have had so much fun this year together. I have not been a good grandma and taken as many photos as I should have, so I took the opportunity yesterday and finally got a few quick ones. There is different editing on this since I spent oodles of time playing around with Xmas card making, and wanted to put this shot in the template. So here ya have it:

Kayla's hair cut

This weekend Grandma Marion came down and took Kayla to get her hair cut. Here she is modeling in her Nana's back yard. I was playing graphics queen again here and made this up as a gift to look like she is on a cover of a magazine. I can't help it- This is my passion!
